Thief's Log Chapter 30 & 31

Hey guys,

Ara here.

So, chapter 30 of Thief's Log is out this week. That means that chapter 31 is available for Patreon and Buy Me a Coffee subscribers.

I realise that I'm not very good at these updates, I do spend a lot of time trying to come up with more interesting things to include... I have decided that most posts only really need the post details, but I'd like to change it up now and then. So if there's anything you'd like to ask me, please leave a comment.

I'd love to do a Q&A at some point...

I've also got a new poem for you guys today. It really captures my current mood...

Anyway it's called The Mask and can also be found in the River poetry page 4 now.

The Mask

Today my social mask won’t fit

I feel too small

Even so I must face the world

I’ll adhere it

Staple it in place

And ignore the blood that pours out

The day passes

No one seems to notice

My face is numb

My feelings are numb

I go back to my dark space

Where I can be safe and alone

The next day arrives

All too soon

I crawl from my safe space

With reluctance

I affix my mask

It takes more staples today

The loss of blood

It makes me woozy

It pools behind my mask

With my tears

And they work to hold up my smile

So superficial, so forced

Just one kind word

One person to notice

The mask that I wear

It is enough to shatter my fake smile

And reveal the mess beneath

I crave it and I fear it in equal measure

I long for the day

That I can put my mask away

When this will feel normal

Again

Perhaps tomorrow, or the day after

The longer it takes the worse it gets

We cannot staple the mask once it's broken.

That's it for now. I plan to release another chapter later this week. Finger crossed my back holds out long enough for me to do it.

So until then, ta-ta.
