Something New

Hey guys,

Ara here!

Tonight- or rather this morning, I have something new for you.

You may have noticed the intriguing link on the home page to a project called the Red, Red River. I had an idea in mind, and this is the working title (so to speak). I actually liked this title so much that I've run with it.

I will be posting short stories here, similar to Tatsu's Challenge, but these will come from my mental cogs.

I struggle to write short stories, as I plan too far ahead. I'm good at building world states. For example the short I wrote entitled High and Low (this can be found in the Tatsu's Challenge project list). I already have a complete world set out (and most of a continuation chapter written).

I can't help this, it just comes naturally.

Thus some of the projects in the Red, Red River may be multiple chapters.

This project is a challenge that I am imposing on myself.

Each story in the Red, Red River will be influenced by the colour red.

I decided that in this first project, I call it Haruka & Ume, I wanted to use haiku. I haven't dabbled in haiku for a long time.

For anyone who doesn't know a haiku is a Japanese poem that consists of three lines the first and last line must consist of 5 syllables while the center line must have 7 syllables.

I set this story in Japan, partially due to the use of haiku, but also because I love Japan.

I hope to write another longer piece set in Japan (perhaps even using some of my experiences from when I traveled there) in the future.

Please leave comments and tell me what you think of this story.

I wanted to keep it simple and sweet.

I have a lot of stories on the go at the moment. Please expect another update to ANGEL and Half Life soon!

I'll release another Neweth chapter after the weekend as well.

Have a good morning, or afternoon/evening.

Ta-ta.
