Hey guys,
Ara here.
The first and most important thing on my agenda today is to apologize for my sudden and extended absence.
I have been very sick and unable to even make it to my computer until now.
I believe that I know the cause now and (hopefully) should be on the mend.
That means that I can finally start to churn out some new chapters.
The worst thing about being sick was being unable to write.
Though that being said I did come up with some great new ideas while I was alone with nothing but my strange, twisted and fragmented thoughts.
However the complication comes with the fact that these ideas are stand-alone pieces that don’t fit with any of my current titles. This means that many of the releases over the next few weeks will end up in The River as shorter stories or potential novels to be continued at a later date.
I can't guarantee that I'll be able to stick to a schedule while I'm still recovering, and I'm not sure how long this will last. Thus my releases may be scarce for awhile.
We’ll see how we go.
For this week I’m releasing a poem.
I will be adding it to the second page of poetry in the River for now...
It may later connect more with another piece that I’m working on. I may also end up being too abstract to fit properly.
I’ve recently been stuck on the idea of nursery rhymes. This is due to my work on the fairy tales of Ghost: A Being of Unimaginable Cold.
A lot of the time nursery rhymes go hand in hand with fairy tales. It has me taking the beat and rhythm of my poems a lot more seriously, as nursery rhymes normally have a simple sing-song kind of rhythm.
I often think about what it might sound like if my poems were sung. It is not an unusual thought for me. In fact it often comes up as I write poems. However try as I might I am not musical enough to put them to a sufficient tune. I do often find myself trying.
This poem is a duet, either spoken or sung. Though I didn’t intentionally write it that way, it’s just how it turned out. I call it No More. Please check it out.
I’ll be back as soon as I can with another new chapter. I am working on multiple chapters and will post them once I feel that their initial drafts are complete.
Ta-ta, for now.
