Progress Report

Hey guys,

Ara here.

I just thought I'd leave a quick update here.

As I explained in my previous post, I've been working on a serious edit of the first three chapters of High & Low.

I've had to do a full re-write of the first chapter and it's turned into two chapters.

My plan was to release the new first chapter today, however now that it's split into tow I will be delaying that release until the second chapter is also ready.

I'm also working on a prologue for the story. This will be about the reasons for Heath to leave his home in the first place.

I'll keep working and I'll update this blog as I go. Hopefully I will be able to post something next week.

Until then here's a poem.

Descent

A bandage, to cover all sins

But never to any avail

A mark of vanity

Or a sign of insanity?

Darkness flows in like mist

Through everything

Like a liquid that stains

As it slides from every vein

A curtain rises in the fading light

Then it falls, like a madness

A self-deprecating sickness

Finding advantage in every weakness

Once it latches

There’s no way to go but down

A pox on the soul

Nevermore to be whole

From there the only way is down

To the depths of the mind

To the darkness hidden inside

It knows exactly where to hide

It is not the dark itself

Nor the lack of light

Shattering the cold comfort of the night

It is a shadow

A shadow of me?

Or a shadow of you?

Decent will eventually join my other poetry in The River.

Anyway, I'll be back next week, hopefully with a large release.

Ta-ta.
