High & Low Chapter 8 + 9

Hey guys,

Ara here.

I'm finally back.

I've managed to bottle the emotions that were overflowing in me. That means that I can let them leak out bit by bit over time and through my work.

This isn't a healthy way of existing, but it my way.

I was talking with my dear friend Jade Annabel (check her out here - jadeannabelart.com) a few days ago, and I realised the reason for the struggle I was having over finishing this chapter this week.

High & Low is actually one of my lighter works currently.

Thief's Log is about children trapped in what seems to be perpetual dark angst and Ghost has enough desperation to fill a pool that the characters may just use to drown each other.

Meanwhile Heath and his friends are pretty happy right now.

That's the issue.

It took me a lot to find those positive emotions.

They are there, but were buried under a tone of other thicker emotions.

I still haven't really managed to harness them. More like I've found a thread that will eventually lead me back to some form of positivity.

But enough about me.

On to this weeks release.

Chapter 8 of High & Low is now up for public consumption.

That means that chapter 9 is available for my Patreon and Buy Me a Coffee supporters.

Oh, and remember the rules for Drowned Mans Bluff can be found on the High & Low Glossary page. (Though fair warning it hasn't been play tested as of yet)

Also here is a new poem. I will be placing it gently in the third poetry page in the River.

Bonded

The usual cry

Doesn’t come today

No excited 'welcome home'

It is an absence felt deeply

That distinct sound

That you know so well

It can only be heard in silence

And leaves a heavy toll

Even when the pain is too great

A memory of their warmth

Returns

To comfort you

They're not lost

But still waiting

Watching over their domain

Desiring only to be close

Creatures of habit

They remain

Steadfast in their ways

Loyal to their favorite person

The happiness of this home

Keeps them

There's no where else

This is where they belong

Even when they're gone

They're beside you

As they have been

Always your best friend

On that somber note I'll leave you.

I'll be back soon with a new chapter of Thief's Log, or something like that.

Ta-ta.
