Hey guys,
Ara here.
Chapter 4 of Ghost is now publicly available.
For my wonderful Patreons I have Ghost Chapter 5.
Hope you enjoy.
Here is another extra in the form of a preview.

This place is a taboo, huh?

Yes.

What’s are you guys talking about?

A place we shouldn’t go.

A place, or thing of supernatural origin or power that is considered to dangerous to poke.

Makes sense, I guess.
Are there other Taboos?

Yes. Five currently.
That includes the Endless Whirlpool in the Palradoo Sea, the creature of the Hynd Mountians, and-

Did you ever hear about the murder house?

Of course he has, and it’s called the house of flesh.

That sounds- um, interesting.

Cal, he hasn’t heard it!

I have ears don’t I, Zach?
You don’t get to tell the story because you can never
remember the name.

I’d argue, but she tells it better.

So, there was an aristocrat named Landon Moyle.
He was old money, and was once known for his charity.

Not anymore.

Well, yes.
He funded and personally headed many programs
that were designed to help the underprivileged.

And that’s how he-

Zach, who’s telling the story.

Fine. You are. I’ll shut up.

Anyway, when there were multiple reports of
homeless people going missing,
the guard didn’t pay much notice.
They only spared the minimum effort required by their job. Each time the verdict was something along the lines of, “People like that, they just move on after awhile”.
The only one who seemed to take notice of the reports was Moyle. He began his own force to investigate.

Over the years of his investigation, Moyle had four men wrongfully arrested,
and every time the disappearances began again he would rile the
populace up with fear.
The Council finally had enough and began their own investigation.

…

…

And?

Oh, sorry I was waiting for Zach to blurt it out.

Seriously, I’ve gotta do all the work around here,
It was Moyle.

What! So he only help the people to cover himself!?

Yep, he took them home, gagged them and skinned them alive.

I hate the way you were smiling as you said that.

That’s because it’s not even the best part yet!

You’re saying that a man skinning his victims constitutes a good part of the story.

Haha.

And you’re saying it isn’t?

So, agree to disagree?
Anyway, the guard cornered Moyle at his home
and he met them at the front door.
There he slit his own throat in front of everyone.

They entered the house and found human skin
on tanning wracks, and bones piled high.
Some he had made furniture out of.
It also looked like he was cooking the flesh into
the meals that were served to the poor.

Stars, that’s disgusting!

Yeah.

You’re grinning again.
No, it’s my bad I’m just going to not look at you.

And then-

There's more?

Yes.

Stars.
Go on then.

So they took Moyle’s body, but left the rest as it was overnight.
When the investigators and mortician returned the next
morning the entire two story stately home was gone,
including the basement.
All that was left was a huge hole in the ground.
Moyle’s body was also gone without trace.

Dun-dun-dunnnn.

…

Did you seriously just jump?

N-no!

After that one by one each of the officials that
entered the house just disappeared.
This included all the guards and mortician who
saw the basement where the body parts were left.
No one goes near the place where the house was, it was just left empty.

That part isn’t entirely true. I went to see it,
not that there was much to see aside from
being a big hole in the ground.
You would think that the place would become overgrown,
but there was nothing but dirt.
They say that nothing grows there anymore.

I stand corrected. Only fools go there.

And that’s the taboo?

Nope.

You see the house sometimes reappears.
We never know where or when. The entire thing is a mystery,
unlike anything in the Corsair records.
Anyone who enters the house never returns and after awhile it just vanishes again too.

…

C’mon, guys I d-don’t scare that easily.

Do you really think that we’re making this up?

Snigger.

That we would conspire to create this entire conversation,
just to draw your interest and frighten you?

Sigh.
The jury’s still out on that.
Till next week, when I'll be back with a new chapter of Thief's Log or ANGEL.
Ta-ta.
