Ara here.
This update is a bit late due to technical issues...
Ghost chapter 3 is now available to everyone. Chapter 4 is up for my beloved Patreons.

Every little bit helps me keep the site going.
Recently I've been wondering if my current chapter previews are effective or not...
I'll be trying something a little different again for the next few weeks.
I am open to suggestions for an alternative, or perhaps you think it's not required at all. Please comment to let me know your thoughts on the matter. I'm quite curious.
For now here's a slightly different preview for Ghost chapter 3:
Claude Boltare the Third is a rank four Corsair.
Within the overall organization his rank is low. New recruits start out at rank five, but in truth few ever rise above second rank, especially now days with less supernatural sightings and incidents.
It is strange to consider that his twin sister, Calladra, is two ranks above. Though this perhaps has more to do with politics.
Corsairs are demon hunters, to put it simply. They keep tabs on supernatural occurrences and deal with them if they are a threat (and often when they are not).
The organisation are technically governed by the greater council who work under the monarch of the land. However for the most part the Corsairs rely on their internal leadership.
They work in independent units called Orders. Each Order is led by a Rank two Corsair. Claude's order is that of the lion, a title passed down in the Boltare line. Is is currently led by Calladra Boltare.
The Corsairs of one hundred years ago fought actual demons, whiches and warlocks.
There are fewer Corsairs these days. It has become an antiquated institution, now that there are no revorded sightings of whiches or demons.
The most that a modern Corsair will have to contend with is a minor exorcism or a in some rare cases a lesser monster that stumbled into the human lands.
The remaining Corsairs are being slowly amalgamated into the royal army. It would seem that they will eventually to be phased out entirely.
There are two old and influential noble houses that have their allegiances (and pride) entangled in the Corsairs. The first is of course the Boltare's, the second is the Avinash line. Both houses are fighting teeth and nail to keep the Corsairs autonomous.
Hope that this answers some of your questions about the Corsairs.
So I'll be back soon with a new chapter of Thief's Log and the next chapter of ANGEL.
Ta-ta.
